Sarah earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Washington. After graduating, she became an engineer and full-time employee at Microsoft where she worked on the Bing search engine for six years. After that, Sarah worked as a senior engineer at Tableau software for eight years. In her last four years with the company, she worked on a low-level platform team focused on refactoring a large c++ code base to be more modular and extensible. Sarah recently completed a certificate in embedded and real-time systems programming from the University of Washington. She hopes to put this knowledge to use for some fun small device projects, ideally in the natural sciences space. When not working, Sarah loves to go on outdoor adventures with her teenage son. She also keeps quail for eggs and volunteers with Habitat for Humanity.
